Fashion has always been the one thing that I’m passionate about. I’ve been into fashion ever since as long as I can remember, hence my major, Fashion Management. I used to rip off and cut out pictures of dresses and clothes from magazines, compile them and bind them into books when I was a little girl. Anna Wintour and Carine Roitfeld are my role models growing up. Well, they still are, actually. I kept figuring out what I want to be in fashion industry. I first want to be a fashion designer but then I realized that drawing is not in my area of specialty. Then I wanted to be a model but I prefer to work backstage and being the person behind the curtain. Then I remembered that I love writing and I used to write a lot back in my primary school years. I also love to observe and journalism is my second biggest passion after fashion. I really want to work in a fashion magazine, as a fashion stylist or fashion editor because I love writing, reading, and fashion and what job could combine it all perfectly other than Fashion Editor? Binus University International –it’s the college that I go to- provides a double degree program for students who want to study abroad. Fashion Management students will be sent to Northumbria University, Newcastle in the 3rd year. Later on, during my study in Northumbria I will apply to work part time or as an intern in any fashion magazine there is. So when I graduated from college I will have something impressive to put in my Curriculum Vitae. Then, I will give my CVs to several magazines and move from Newcastle to London and gain myself a work visa. Then I’ll apply to any fashion magazine there is –Vogue, preferably- and after I’m –hopefully- accepted, I will build my way from there on. I will give all my efforts and work so hard so I can get to where I want to be. If working my ass off is what it takes to be where I want to be, then so be it! After years of working in London I will move back to Indonesia and run my own magazine. Then I’m going to be living my dream and my life would be perfect and I will sit on my $2000 couch in my big, beautiful house, looking back at all the things I’ve accomplished, and smile ear to ear :D
